Composition

Gatifoxacin 0.03% Eye Drops

Dosage

One drop of Solution every 2 hours in the infected eye(s) while awake, up to 8 times a day for 2 days. Then for one week, use one drop 4 times a day.

Mechanism of Action

Gatifloxacin is a broad spectrum antibiotic that is used to treat infections caused by certain types of bacteria.

Gatifloxacin inhibis the bacterial enzymes topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV, which are required for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination thereby resulting in cell apoptosis.
